Hong Kong luxe retailer Lane Crawford is bringing its hunt for fashion talent to L.A. on Jan. 24 to 26

Hong Kong-based luxury department store Lane Crawford is bringing its hunt for emerging fashion and lifestyle talent to Los Angeles later this month, marking the first time the retailer has held such an event in the U.S.

The Lane Crawford’s buying team will decamp to the 3.1 Phillip Lim store in the downtown Los Angeles Arts District from Jan. 24 to 26 in an effort to connect with up-and-coming designers and brands that don’t traditionally present their wares at the major fashion weeks around the world. The call covers a wide range of categories, including (but not limited to) womenswear, menswear, footwear, bags and accessories as well as home décor, furnishings, kitchenware and furniture.

According to last week’s announcement by the retailer, it’s looking for other kinds of creatives as well — stylists, photographers, illustrators and writers among them.

Dubbed Creative Call Out, it’s a 4-year-old program that has held six previous events — three in Hong Kong (where the retailer is based) and three in mainland China — resulting in the launch of 50 brands and 45 creative projects over that period of time.

In addition to getting their wares on the racks and shelves of 10 brick-and-mortar Lane Crawford stores (as well as its website), successful submissions will benefit from the marketing and logistics muscle of the retailer, which dates to 1850.

Even though the event is nearly two weeks away, those interested in attending need to register by Jan. 18. Additional details — and the registration form — can be found here.

Lane Crawford’s Creative Call Out Los Angeles, by appointment only, Jan. 24 to 26 at 3.1 Phillip Lim, 734 E. 3rd St., Los Angeles.
