A federal grand jury Thursday indicted 18 people, including three physicians, on charges of running an international scheme to illegally sell drugs on the Internet.

The scheme involved a headquarters in Costa Rica, a credit card company in Israel, an accounting firm in Cyprus and pharmacies and individuals throughout the U.S.

The 313-count indictment alleges that Affpower grossed $126 million in two years of operation, and that doctors who approved the sale of drugs did so without examining the buyers.
