Gas from trees??

Trees may now be giving us more than delicious fruit and a place to put ornaments! Researchers have found a liquid derived from certain trees that may be a green alternative to gasoline.

Former Vice President and star of An Inconvenient Truth, Al Gore, has a new slideshow giving further evidence that the effects of climate change are worse than the predictions we've already gotten from scientists.

Benjamiin Jones at gas2.0 says that the plug-in cars being touted as better than gas-fuled machines aren't much better for the earth if the electricity being put into them isn't clean itself. The carbons being emitted from these cars may even be worse than your average hybrid.

Speaking of carbon emissions, there is a new map making the rounds showing the carbon dioxide emissions from the U.S. The East Coast seems to make up most of the dangerous levels while the West has much lower levels.

The Hush Puppies shoe brand has come out with an environmentally-friendly line of women's shoes and sandals (perfect for the upcoming summer months). The shoes are made of sustainable materials and according to The Accidental Environmentalist, are very comfortable.
