Anaheim's newest club brings the Heat

Vegas-style Heat Ultra Lounge has all the right ingredients.

Anaheim is not exactly known for its sizzling nightlife scene. But this summer, with the addition of Ember -- and now Heat Ultra Lounge -- things are looking up in the land Disney built.

This latest wave of entertainment in Angels-land is certainly not for the kids, however. Heat, which soft-opened Saturday with a special set by DJ AM and a packed house, boasts an expensive Funktion One soundsystem (just like Vanguard in Los Angeles) and over 10,000 square feet of sleek Las Vegas-inspired nightclub style. And while Heat looses points in the coolness department due to its location (inside Anaheim's Garden Walk), it's likely that won't stop locals and tourists alike (the club is a stone's throw away from the convention center and will host many special events this year) from stopping by this summer once Heat really gets, well, hot.

Our intrepid photographer stopped by the new club's Saturday sneak preview to give you an idea of what the scene might be like inside Heat this summer. Ocean magazine is sponsoring the grand opening bash Thursday, July 31, which starts at 9 p.m. RSVP is mandatory to assistant@alinemedia.com. There will be a $20 cover charge if you are not confirmed on the guest list.
