Complete Festival Coverage
By Emili Vesilind, Times Staff Writer
The styled-out concertgoers, not the songsters working the stages, made the boldest fashion statements at last weekend's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio. PYTs stayed cool in edgy sundresses, short-shorts, floppy hats, gladiator sandals and Wayfarers, while the men rocked in rolled-up jeans partnered with Vans and fedoras. And of course there was the fringe contingent -- a group of guys wearing Speedos, a dude in a gladiator kilt, a few misguided girls tromping around in high heels -- proving that vanity is impervious to extreme heat.
Austin Owen of Phoenix chose accessories over actual clothing.
