Top performers coming to San Diego this month include Paramore, Brad Paisley, Pitbull and Logic.
7.4: Clint Black
The award-winning country superstar last released an album in 2015, but that hasn’t stopped him from making regular stops in San Diego. This time, he leads the holiday festivities in a show called America’s Birthday with Clint Black.

Buffalo, N.Y.’s jam-scene stalwarts take over the Belly Up for two nights of hippie heaven with band founders Chuck Garvey and Rob Derhak leading the charge.

7.6: Dead & Company
Did someone say jam-scene? The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-inducted band that started it all returns with OGs Mickey Hart, Bob Weir, and Bill Kreutzmann still in tow. Oh, and some guy named John Mayer will be there as well.

7.6: Primus
Les Claypool, Larry LaLonde and Tim Alexander continue to bring the weird as the band heads toward its 35th year. But they won’t have to do it alone. Metal titans Mastodon and L.A.’s JJUUJJUU are also on the bill.

7.6: Kenny Loggins
The perennial hitmaker returns to San Diego after it was reported he’s re-making his 1986 smash Danger Zone for the upcoming sequel of Top Gun. Last year, Loggins teamed with Michael McDonald on the Thundercat single, Show You the Way.

7.7: Vance Joy
The Australian singer/songwriter best known for the 2014 hit, Riptide, heads back to San Diego after releasing his second studio album, Nation of Two, in February.

7.10: Kina Grannis
The So Cal singer-songwriter landed her first recording contract through a Doritos Super Bowl contest in 2008. Although she hasn’t released a studio album in four years, Grannis already has a whopping 10 singles to her name in 2018.

7.10: LIVE + Counting Crows
The multiplatinum band reunited last year to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their debut album, Mental Jewelry. Counting Crows will be there to join them as LIVE’s original lineup heads out on their current 25 Years and Counting Tour.

7.11: Trace Adkins
Last year’s Something’s Going On was the 16th album for Louisiana-bred country singer, actor and one-time Celebrity Apprentice contestant. The 12-song collection hit the fifth spot on Billboard’s Top Country Albums when it was released.

7.11, 12: Ozomatli
No strangers to San Diego, the long-running bilingual funk collective circles back around after last playing an Ozokidz show at the Music Box – a performance based on the album of the same name, specifically designed for young fans. But it’s back to entertaining their parents for this double dip at Sycuan.

7.13: Barrington Levy
The legendary dancehall veteran has collaborated with Snoop Dogg, Long Beach Dub Allstars, San Diego’s own Slightly Stoopid and more. In 2016, the Jamaican singer picked up a Best Reggae Album Grammy nomination for the 15-track collection, Acousticalevy.

7.16: Billy Bob Thornton
The Academy Award-winning actor has two films coming out this year — London Fields and A Million Little Pieces — so he’s celebrating by going on tour with the Boxmasters. The trio has released six albums together, their latest, Boys and Girls… and the World, was released in 2016.

7.17: Chris Isaak
It seems like the pompadoured crooner is here more often than most Padres players, but that’s just a testament to the charismatic singer’s ability to make it a different show each time he crosses the county line. Isaak released his latest album, Christmas Live on Soundstage, in 2017.

7.18: Anthony Green
The lead singer of post-hardcore bands Circa Survive and Saosin is back in town to switch gears with his solo thing. Green’s latest release, the nine-song Would You Still Be in Love, came out last month.

7.19: Paramore
The Hayley Williams-led pop powerhouse released its fifth studio album, After Laughter, last year. They’ll be joined by L.A.’s Foster the People, who also released an album last year, Sacred Hearts Club, their third.

7.19: Rhye
Rhye, aka Canadian singer Mike Milosh, released his sophomore album, Blood, in February. It is the first release for the one-time duo after Milosh’s co-founder, Danish producer/instrumentalist Robin Hannibal, left the band.

7.20: The Psychedelic Furs
Music returns to the racetrack! The Furs haven’t released an album in nearly 30 years, but that hasn’t stopped the founding Butler brothers — singer Richard and bassist Tim — from including San Diego on their list of frequently visited cities.

7.20: Brad Paisley
The country superstar released his 11th studio album, Love and War, last year. It scored the three-time Grammy-winner his fifth-straight No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.

7.20: Pitbull
It’s time to bring South Beach to the West Coast. Mr. Worldwide released his 10th studio album, Climate Change, last year and has recently shared the stage with the likes of Enrique Iglesias and Britney Spears.

7.21: Iration
The Cali-via-Hawaii alt-reggae rockers play after the last race on Saturday. Their May-released, self-titled sixth album made it all the way to No. 2 on Billboard’s U.S. Reggae Albums chart.

The costumed punk-rock superheroes of Hub Network’s short-lived, family-friendly Aquabats Super Show return for more antics and live music. Super rad!

7.21: Car Seat Headrest
The Virginia-born, Seattle-based project from Will Toledo just released its 11th studio album, Twin Fantasy (Face to Face), in February. It is an official re-recording of the band’s 2011 sixth studio album, Twin Fantasy.

7.21: Juliette & The Licks
Juliette Lewis, the singer and actress, hasn’t released an album since 2009, but never really stopped performing. Lewis can be seen in the upcoming film A Million Little Pieces with fellow GROOVE list entry, Billy Bob Thornton. Maybe a co-headlining tour next time around?

7.21: 30 Seconds To Mars
So what if Jared Leto won an Academy Award and is currently slated for the lead in a stand-alone Joker movie? He still wants to rock! This time through town, he’ll do it with the help of Walk the Moon, K. Flay and Welshy Arms.

7.24: Logic
Maryland-based rapper Logic (aka Sir Robert Bryson Hall II) is having a good year. Not only did his latest album, the March-released Bobby Tarantino II mixtape, debut at the top spot on the Billboard 200, he also became one of 15 artists to have 10 or more songs make Billboard’s Hot 100 chart in a single week.

7.25: Mt. Joy
After watching their single Astrovan collect over 5 million Spotify streams, the Philadelphia-based roots rockers released their self-titled debut in March. The show is part of local radio station 91X’s Inspired by the Music series.

7.27: Steel Pulse
These Grammy-winning British veterans are considered by many to be the greatest non-Jamaican reggae band of all time. And after 40-plus years, Steel Pulse still features founding lead vocalist David Hinds and keyboardist Selwyn Brown.

7.28: Snow Tha Product
After releasing her first official EP, the eight-track Half Way There…Pt.1, two years ago, rapper, actress and Mesa College alum Claudia Feliciano followed it with a handful of appearances on other artists’ singles in 2017. This year, Meza returned with a pair of her own tracks, the March-released Help a B*tch Out (feat. O.T. Genesis) and May’s Myself (feat. DRAM).

7.29: Adam Ant
After a long stretch of acting, writing and fatherhood, the iconic ’80s superstar is ready to don the pirate gear, his goody two shoes and stand and deliver. Ahoy!

7.29: 311 and Offspring
The SoCal-by-way-of-Nebraska funk-rock quintet joins forces with the “keep ’em separated” punks for a ’90s-era double-dip. 311 released their latest album, Mosaic, last year, while the Offspring are readying their first album in six years for release this summer.

7.30: The Decemberists
The Portland baroque-pop quintet released their eighth studio album, I’ll Be Your Girl, in March. It was produced by John Congelton (David Byrne, St. Vincent, The Roots) and features synth compositions inspired by bands like New Order and Depeche Mode.
