Kick off Poinsettia Bowl at the Gaslamp March

Share

Get your football-crazed friends together in the historic Gaslamp district for a march-of-the-ages. The Gaslamp March festivities are part of the 2015 San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl , kicking off on Monday, Dec. 21 at 6 p.m. The event offers a lively parade in the heart of downtown San Diego, starting from each end of Fifth Ave.

On-lookers can watch the two sides of the parade, which feature the competing teams’ marching bands and spirit squads, coming together as one. The teams will meet at Market Street to compete in a battle of the bands. This year’s teams are the Boise State University Broncos and the Northern Illinois University Huskies.

The marching bands will play their versions of holiday classics, bringing live music and cheer to our already lively city. This event is free to attend.

After kicking off the celebration at the parade, hit the official tailgate party on Wednesday, Dec. 23 before the big game. The purchase of a PrimeSport VIP Tailgate ticket will provide fans with a luxury experience. The package includes unlimited food, beer and wine for attendees throughout the event. College bands and cheerleaders will be on-site, performing live to help get your pre-game spirits pumped up. The fun will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Poinsettia Bowl will start at 1:30 p.m.
