4.23: Bebel Gilberto

Daughter of bossa nova pioneer João Gilberto and singer Miúcha, Bebel has carried the family torch with grace and inspiration. The scion songstress returns to the scene of the crime after releasing the locally recorded, 7-song album, Live at the Belly Up, last year.

4.23: Marian Hill

Brooklyn’s Samantha Gongol and Jeremy Lloyd continue their amazing run after an Apple AirPods commercial thrust them into the spotlight last year. The pair’s new single, Subtle Thing, was released in February.

4.24: Sara Evans

Country singer Sara Evans released her eighth studio album, Words, last year. It debuted at No. 4 on Billboard’s U.S. Top Country chart and features a female writer other than Evans on every single song. Read more about her upcoming visit to San Diego here.

4.25: The Distillers

After returning from an elongated absence, frontwoman Brode Dalle has gotten the band back together again. The L.A.-based punk rockers haven’t released an album since 2003’s Coral Fang, but that isn’t stopping them.

4.26: 5 Seconds of Summer

Lock up your eighth-graders! You Tube celebs turned Aussie boy band that proved you can get millions of listeners with songs like She Looks So Perfect and She’s Kinda Hot makes a stop in San Diego. New single Want You Back was released in February.

4.27: MUST DIE! x LAXX

Texas-born, Seattle based DJ and producer MUST DIE! (aka Lee Bates) has remixed fellow colleagues from Datsik and Borgore to Habstrakt and Flux Pavilion, as well as releasing 16 EPs and albums of his own. He shares the stage with Oxford-grad LAXX (aka James Churchill) who released his 13-song Fake Friends album in February.

4.27: Steve Aoki

Last in San Diego to play outdoors at the Del Mar Racetrack, Dim Mak’s fearless leader returns to the familiar confines of Omnia. The Grammy-nominated DJ/producer spent 2017 collaborating with everyone from Gucci Mane, Migos and 2 Chainz, to Yellow Claw, DVBBS and One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson. This year, Aoki has released two singles — Azukita with Daddy Yankee, Paly-N-Skillz and Elvis Crespo, as well as Plur Genocide (feat. Lockdown) with Carnage.

4.28: TJR

TJR, aka DJ/producer Thomas Joseph Rozdilsky, has worked with the likes of Dillion Francis, Pitbull, Cardi B, GTA, and Savage, and remixed Armand van Helden, Jason Derulo, DJ Snake and others. He also released three singles last year — Time To Jack, Rollin and Higher State with Chris Bushnell.
