Top performances coming to San Diego this week include Ziggy Marley, Marian Hill, Def Leppard, Talib Kweli and Boston + Joan Jett & The Blackhearts.

6.12 - Ziggy Marley

With expansion into philanthropy, graphic novels, children’s books, acting, a GMO-free product line and more, it’s a wonder that the eldest child of Bob and Rita Marley still has time for music. But after picking up his seventh Grammy in 2015 for the album “Fly Rasta,” (his third in the Best Reggae Album category), he followed it with a self-titled release last year - his sixth solo full-length.

6.13 - Robyn Hitchcock

One-time leader of The Soft Boys, Hitchcock released his self-titled 21st album this year. It was produced by Brenden Benson and features an appearance from Gillian Welch.

6.15 - Horace Andy

The legendary Jamaican singer/songwriter has worked with Bristol’s Massive Attack in recent years, but the roots reggae superstar has released more than 40 albums in his storied career.

6.16 - Marian Hill

Are you down-ditty-down? Brooklyn’s Samantha Gongol and Jeremy Lloyd sure hope you are. Still soaring after an Apple AirPods commercial thrust them into the spotlight, the electro-pop duo just released a video for their song “Down.”

6.16 - Def Leppard

The British rockers turn 40 this year and are still sporting the same lineup they’ve had since 1992. They’ll be joined on this North American run by hair-metal colleagues Poison and Tesla.

6.16: The Magician

Known for doing magic tricks on stage while performing, Belgian DJ/producer Stephen Fasano pulled a gold record out of his hat when he collaborated with Years & Years on the 2014 single “Sunlight.” Fasano has remixed Lykke Li and Clean Bandit, and his latest single, “Tied Up” (feat. Julian Perretta), was released in February.

These 2 Tone/Ska legends also turn 40 this year. Still led by founding members Lynval Golding and Horace Panter, as well as original member Terry Hall, The Specials have survived multiple hiatuses and continue to deliver an amazing live show.

6.17 - Magic 92.5 Birthday Bash

Sometimes, old school is the only school. And with a lineup that includes Morris Day & The Time, Zapp, Blackstreet, Ginuwine, and Stevie B, this is one of those times. No diggity. No doubt.

Neighborhood SD is hitting the decade mark and celebrating with what they’re calling “a beer garden party of sorts.” They’re shutting down the block on 8th between Market and G to serve up specialty beers, craft cocktails and a bunch of eats. Oh, and rapper Talib Kweli will be performing.

6.17: Dubvision

Another EDM act from the Netherlands, sibling DJ duo Victor and Stephan Leicher have collaborated with the likes of Sander van Doorn, Justin Oh and Dash Berlin. So far in 2017, the Dutch brothers have released a pair of singles - “Geht’s Noch” and “Satellites.”

6.17 - Evan Dando

He’s led the Lemonheads and dated Kate Moss. But this year, it’s all about the reissue of his 2003 album, “Baby I’m Bored.” For Record Store Day this year, Dando released an expanded edition of his solo debut that includes unreleased tracks, singles, b-sides and rarities.
