Oddball Comedy Festival comes to SD on Oct. 9

Share

Some of America’s funniest young comedians will be stopping by Sleep Train Amphitheater on Friday, Oct. 9 for the Oddball Comedy and Curiosity Festival. The festival is presented by Funny or Die, a website created by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy and their team at Gary Sanchez Productions. The website itself boasts funny videos that otherwise would be deeply embedded in the internet on weird, unknown YouTube channels.

The fact that Funny or Die team is promoting this festival is your cue to hop on buying tickets to a show sure to make you LOL. The event stars comedian Aziz Ansari , known for his powerfully funny stand-up routines and for playing the loveable Tom Haverford on “Parks and Recreation.” Ansari brings audiences to tears with his incredibly real and honest routines, based mainly on his life-happenings.

Although he is the headliner of the show, other notable comedians are also on deck to perform, guaranteed to satisfy your need to laugh, hard.

Anthony Jeselnik will also be taking to the stage to perform. Jeselnik is a well-regarded comedic writer, namely for his work on the “Comedy Central Roasts” featuring Donald Trump, Charlie Sheen and Roseanne Barr. Alongside Jeselnik will be the “Roastmaster General” himself, Jeff Ross. Ross’ fans love his “ball busting” type of humor that have we’ve witnessed on both the Comedy Central Roasts for the past 10 years and his stand-up act.

Another noteworthy performer is comedian and talented musician Bridget Everett, who just released her first one-hour TV special on Comedy Central this year titled, “Bridget Everett: Gynecological Wonder.” Everett has also appeared on “Inside Amy Schumer,” and is now touring to bring her stand-up to cities across the U.S.

John Mulaney, Rory Scovel, Sebastian Maniscalo and T.J. Miller will also be rocking the mic, showcasing their incomparable comedic prose. With plenty to laugh at, this is one comedy show you’d be a clown to miss out on.
