10.19: Odesza
Two of electronic music’s biggest stars, Seattle-based producers Harrison “Catacombkid” Mills and Clayton “BeachesBeaches” Knight, released their highly anticipated third album last month. It’s called A Moment Apart and features collaborations with a diverse range of guests from Leon Bridges and Regina Specktor to Naomi Wild and Sasha Sloan. - Scott McDonald

If you’ve ever been downtown and wondered what used to occupy some of the area’s buildings, check out this Sparks Gallery event, which looks at the history of the business that were once in its space, as well as a discussion about the “seedy underbelly” of San Diego’s “New Town.” Tickets, $8, are required.

10.19-22: Without Walls Festival (WoW)
The past two WoW fests, in 2013 and 2015, took place primarily around the Playhouse and its UC San Diego environs, as an expansion of a program that began on a small scale in 2011. But this year’s third edition is a whole new location: downtown San Diego, which will host close to 20 outside-the-box productions plus numerous ancillary events Oct. 19-22. - James Hebert

Jack (Jacqueline) Novak hasn’t released new music in 2017, but when you look like the Chicago-born/L.A.-based producer and former model, it doesn’t really matter.
