6.1: “Artist as Producer: An Artist Talk by Huai Li”

UC San Diego visual art lecturer Huai Li will discuss and demonstrate the sweeping lines and artistry of Chinese calligraphy from 6:30 to 8 p.m., presenting Chinese ink and acrylic on paper, acrylic on canvas and 24-karat gold-leaf-covered Birchwood “religious icon” panels that use 13th-century techniques.

6.1: Mark Knight

Knight, the founder of U.K. label Toolroom Records, released his 14-song full-length “A Year In The Life” in 2016 on his own imprint. The Grammy-nominated British DJ/producer’s latest single, “Live Stream,” is a collaboration with Green Velvet & René Amesz, was released in April.

6.2: Jay Hardway

The 26-year-old Dutch DJ born Jobke Heiblom broke through when he collaborated with fellow countryman Martin Garrix on the 2013 single “Wizard.” The two joined forces again last year on the single “Spotless.” Hardway’s latest, “Scio,” was released in March.

6.3 Pink Boots Society Beer Festival

On Saturday, lngram Plaza in Liberty Station will play host to more than 30 breweries pouring unlimited two-ounce pours. Proceeds from the event, which runs from noon to 4 p.m., will benefit the PBS Scholarship Program.
