Ben Affleck takes over as the caped crusader next year in Warner Bros.’ “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” which previews today at Comic-Con. So we asked fans who their favorite onscreen Batman was and why.

“I gotta go old school with Adam West. When I was 5 years old my life revolved around the “Batman” TV show. I thought it was the coolest thing ever.”

“Michael Keaton was my favorite because he played it different from everyone else. He was more mysterious.”

Pam Kragen is the arts and entertainment editor, as well as the chief theater, dining and opera critic, for the San Diego Union-Tribune. She joined the Union-Tribune staff in October 2012 after 27 years at the North County Times, where she served as the Arts & Features Editor, as well as the paper’s longtime arts writer and theater and opera critic.
