Murder charges filed in shooting death of 21-year-old in Pasadena

Prosecutors on Friday filed murder charges against two men arrested in connection with the Jan. 15 shooting death of Zane Goldstein, Pasadena Police Lt. Tracey Ibarra said.

Peter Parra, 35, of Pasadena, and Kevin Cabrera, 25, of North Hollywood, each faces a charge of murder in commission of a robbery and special circumstances of furthering a street gang, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.

Authorities also issued an arrest warrant Friday for a third man, 23-year-old Raymond Frank Conchas, Ibarra said.

Goldstein, 21, was in a vehicle at the intersection of Chester Avenue and Maple Street with his brother when he was shot around 2 p.m., according to police. Zachary Goldstein, 24, was also injured.

The brothers “had gone there to meet with the suspects to discuss [the sale of] an item. Apparently the suspects had a different idea and decided to rob them of that item instead,” Ibarra said.

Goldstein died later at the hospital of wounds suffered from a shotgun blast, according to authorities.

Cabrera and Parra were among several arrests made this week in connection with the shooting.

The pair are scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 7, according to prosecutors.

Officials said the investigation remains ongoing.
