A South Pasadena man went for a ride with the men attempting to steal his motorcycle before being threatened and bailing from a moving van, police said.

On Tuesday evening, a resident on the 300 block of Pasadena Avenue heard noises and confronted three men loading his motorcycle into a white van. The man jumped into the van as it pulled away, but jumped out after he heard one of the three suspects say, “Just shoot him,” according to South Pasadena Police Sgt. Robert Bartels.

Bartels said the man did not see a weapon.

The motorcycle was equipped with a LoJack tracking device and was later recovered in Los Angeles by South Pasadena police, Bartels said.

The suspects, described as Latino and between 25 and 30 years old, have not been arrested.
