A 25-year-old man is in custody after he allegedly vandalized several public areas with gang-related graffiti, Burbank police said.

The man, Alexander “Gorilla Player” Birge, of Sun Valley, was charged this week with one count of vandalism “in association with a criminal street gang” and “with the specific intent to promote, further and assist in criminal conduct by gang members,” according to a Los Angeles County Superior Court criminal complaint.

Officers approached Birge late Monday night as he was reportedly tagging an electrical box near North Glenoaks Boulevard and East Fairmount Road in Burbank, said police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.

The graffiti was consistent with tags discovered on three other walls in the city, a planter at Burbank Temple Emanu El, and at three locations in Sun Valley, Ryburn said.

Birge was being held in lieu of $30,000 bail and is due in court next week.
