Glendale police today announced that they will set up a sobriety checkpoint Friday night at an undisclosed location.

Patrol officers at the checkpoint, in addition to looking for people who are driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, will also be checking for unlicensed drivers between 7:30 p.m. and 2:00 a.m., according to police.

Over the past year, 102 wrecks in Glendale have been DUI-related, injuring 33 people, according to police Sgt. Richard Phillips.

If convicted of DUI, fines and other fees can exceed $10,000.
