Otto Jensen, a 101-year-old photographer whose studio was a staple on Olive Avenue, was struck and killed by 91-year-old driver Tuesday night in Burbank, police said.

Jensen, who reportedly shot stars and cast photos for Hollywood studios over the years, was pronounced dead at Saint Joseph’s Medical Center after he was struck shortly before 8:17 p.m. while crossing the street mere feet from his studio on Olive Avenue near Griffith Park Drive, according to police.

The driver of the sedan, identified by police as Mary Beaumont, remained at the scene and was released by police after questioning.

Burbank police Sgt. Darin Ryburn said Jensen was crossing at the corner of Olive and Griffith, which is legal, “although there is not a marked crosswalk there.”

Los Angeles County coroner’s officials and Burbank police continue to investigate the fatal collision.

Any one with information was asked to contact police Det. Sam Anderson at (818) 238-3100.
