High-speed crash in Burbank sends two drivers to hospitals

Two people, including the alleged driver of a stolen Infiniti, were transported to local hospitals Wednesday afternoon after their cars collided head on in Burbank, police said.

The driver of the Infiniti, identified by police as 20-year-old Ian Mac Neill, was allegedly speeding down Vanowen Street before colliding with a white Toyota 4Runner at the intersection with Catalina Street at about 3:15 p.m., Burbank police Sgt. Darin Ryburn said.

The driver of the Toyota -- a 50-year-old woman who police did not identify -- was taken to the hospital with a compound fracture to her lower left leg.

There were initial media reports that an officer had been injured in the crash, but police said the crash was restricted to the Infiniti and Toyota.

Mac Neill was booked on suspicion of felony evading, driving a stolen vehicle and on a parole hold for an unrelated offense, according to police. He is being held without bail.
