Man accused of stealing ‘Biggest Loser’ star’s Bentley is charged
The man accused of stealing a Bentley belonging to the former star of reality TV show “The Biggest Loser” before crashing it in Burbank the next day during a police pursuit was charged today with grand theft auto and evading police, officials said.
The man, 29-year-old Gerjuan Deshon Harmon, was charged with burglary and other felony charges that, if convicted, could send him to prison for up to 22 years, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
Harmon allegedly stole the car from the Malibu home of Jillian Michaels -- the former half of the star fitness trainer duo on “The Biggest Loser” -- on Tuesday, along with her Hermes purse as she watched television with her child and a nurse, according to prosecutors.
The alleged theft wasn’t discovered until the next day, when Burbank police noticed the 2011 Bentley GT as being reported stolen and attempted to pull Harmon over.
After a brief pursuit, Harmon crashed the Bentley and fled on foot before being tracked down and arrested by police, authorities said.
Harmon remained in custody Friday due to a possible parole violation after prosecutors recommended bail be set at $290,000.
