A 57-year-old man found lying in the middle of a street was arrested after he allegedly kicked a Burbank police officer Tuesday night.

The man, Robert Millis, was allegedly intoxicated and yelling profanities in the 1200 block of Country Club Drive when police were called to the scene at about 8:45 p.m. When officers arrived, they found him lying in the middle of the street apparently intoxicated, police said.

Millis was “unable to control his movements and had abrasions on both knees that appeared to be fresh and were bleeding,” Officer Joshua Kendrick said.

When officers attempted to arrest Millis, he allegedly “kicked one of the officers in the hip, and again kicked at the officer, striking him in the rib cage,” Kendrick added.

Officers were eventually able to get Millis into handcuffs and place him under arrest on suspicion of being drunk in public and battery on a police officer.
