A 40-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday after allegedly blowing through a red light in front of NBC studios and crashing into an SUV, sending two of its passengers to the hospital with serious injuries, police said.

Maritza Luciano, of Burbank, was driving a Jaguar eastbound on Olive Avenue just after 8 p.m. when she allegedly ran a red light at Alameda Avenue and collided with a Ford Explorer.

Two passengers in the SUV were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. One of them, a 79-year-old woman, suffered lacerations to her mouth and complained of chest pain. The other passenger, a 66-year-old man, suffered cuts to his eye and upper lip and a spinal injury to his neck, according to police.

The 57-year-old driver of the Explorer complained of pain to his left wrist, but declined medical treatment at the scene.

Luciano fractured three ribs and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, according to police. She was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
