Two men allegedly stole $120-worth of carne asada from Vallarta Supermarket on Sherman Way in Burbank on Sunday, police said.

At about 10:15 a.m., the two suspects left the market carrying a package of meat, police said. A store employee confronted the pair, demanding that they pay for the merchandise. When they refused, there was a struggle for the package.

Eventually, the suspects prevailed and fled on foot with the meat, Burbank police Lt. Eddie Ruiz said.

The men were both described as 23- to 24-years-old Latino men. One reportedly had a thin build, wore a gray hooded sweatshirt and was about 5 feet 8 inches tall. The second suspect was described as having short brown hair, a goatee, numerous “gang tattoos” and wearing a black tank top, Ruiz said.

Anyone with information on the incident was encouraged to call Burbank police at (818) 238-3210.
