Northbound I-5 off-ramp for Olive Avenue in Burbank to close for 55 hours

Share

The Olive Avenue off-ramp for the northbound 5 Freeway in Burbank will be closed for 55 hours starting Oct. 29 as part of a project to add carpool lanes in both directions.

The $153-million project to add carpool lanes between the 134 Freeway and Magnolia Boulevard has been well under way now for months, and is expected to be completed by mid-2014, according to the California Department of Transportation.

In addition to building a retaining wall on the northbound I-5 between Verdugo Avenue and Angelino Avenue, Caltrans is in the process of widening the northbound Olive Avenue off-ramp.

In order for crews to build a new temporary off-ramp, the existing northbound I-5 Olive Avenue off-ramp will be closed to traffic at 7 p.m. Oct. 29 through 2 a.m. Nov. 1, according to Caltrans.
