Police investigating series of Burbank burglaries

Police are investigating 11 commercial burglaries that occurred after 4 a.m. on Saturday across Burbank.

In each incident, windows were smashed to gain entry, said Burbank Police Sgt. Doug Brown.

“This doesn’t happen very frequently,” Brown said. “To have that many in that short of a timeframe is unusual.”

The burglaries occurred in the 2200 and 2900 blocks of Glenoaks Boulevard, the 1400 block of Olive Avenue, the 1900 block of Burbank Boulevard, the 100 block of West Victory Boulevard and the 400 block of Irving Drive.

It was not immediately known how many suspects were involved or what was stolen.

Less than two weeks ago, police issued a crime alert urging residents to be cognizant of suspicious activity after a series of daytime residential burglaries earlier this month.

Anyone with information on the break-ins was encouraged to call Burbank police at (818) 238-3000.
