‘Odysseo’ to offer plenty of horsepower in Burbank

Cavalia’s latest traveling equestrian show, Odysseo, is galloping through Burbank again, bringing nearly 70 horses and 45 acrobats in front of audiences starting Wednesday.

“It’s the most magical and enthralling show,” said William Shatner, of “Star Trek” fame, during a media preview of the event Tuesday.

Under a 10-story tent larger than a football field, the $30-million production will take viewers through “some of the world’s most beautiful locations,” including the African savanna and desert and the American Southwest, a spokesman said.

Last in Burbank in 2011, the show was praised by city officials as an economic and cultural boon for the city, drawing 55,000 people to Burbank and generating $34,000 in tax revenue for the city.

Officials project the new show will attract 80,000 people and generate roughly $57,000 for the city.

The show kicks off Wednesday and runs through March 24 in the 700 block of Front Street. Tickets are available at www.cavalia.net.
