Share

Residents will have an opportunity to weigh in on Burbank Water and Power operations at two upcoming town hall meetings hosted by the utility.

The meetings will be held Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to noon and April 16 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Both meetings will be held at the Buena Vista Library, located at 300 N. Buena Vista St.

Officials are asking for the public’s input on energy coming from coal and renewable sources, as well as on subsidies for households and businesses with solar-energy systems. According to the utility, Burbank will have 33% of its energy coming from renewable resources, such as wind and solar, by 2016. Today, Burbank receives 40% of its energy from coal.

Residents can also give their feedback by filling out a survey available at www.burbankwaterandpower.com.
