P — Mia Acosta, Senior, Bell-Jeff

Santa Cruz League Player of the Year was a major contributor in the circle as well as at the plate for the Guards, who won the Santa Cruz League championship and advanced to the CIF semifinals.

INF — Hailey Cookson, Junior, Crescenta Valley

All-Pacific League and All-CIF Southern Section Division III first-team pick struck out just twice. Slick-fielding shortstop batted .569 (58 for 102) with three triples, 10 doubles, five home runs, 36 runs and 27 runs batted in.

OF — Hannah Cookson, Senior, Crescenta Valley

Long Beach State-bound standout was one of the area’s best. In center field, she didn’t commit an error and earned all-league second-team accolades. At the plate, she batted .531 (51 for 96) with an area-leading 13 home runs and 41 RBI along with 33 runs and nine doubles.

OF — Sammy Fabian, Freshman, Glendale

Pacific League first-team honoree batted .662 (47 for 71) with four doubles, five triples, two home runs and 29 RBI. Scored 38 runs, stole 27 bases, struck out just three times and, perhaps most impressively, hit safely in all 22 games she played.

UTL — Alex Howard, Sophomore, Glendale

Hit .536 (37 for 69) with two home runs, nine doubles, five triples, 29 runs and 30 runs batted in and secured All-Pacific League honorable mention honors.

C — Olivia Lam, Junior, La Cañada

All-Rio Hondo League first-team pick batted .500 (35 for 70) with seven home runs and 39 runs batted in. Added nine doubles and scored 22 runs.

INF — Olivia Leyva, Senior, La Cañada

All-Rio Hondo League co-Most Valuable Player and All-CIF Southern Section Division V pick hit .533 (32 for 60). Had six home runs, eight doubles, five triples and 27 runs batted in, along with scoring 28 runs.

OF — Jasmin Orozco, Junior, Burbank

Second-team all-league selection hit .360 (31 for 86) with 22 RBI and 12 runs scored. Helped Bulldogs win second straight Pacific League championship.

INF — Sidney Ortega, Senior, Burroughs

Second-team all-league honoree was a constant contributor. Batted .518 (43 for 83) with 37 runs, 21 RBI and six doubles for the Indians.

UTL — Michelle Santiago, Junior, Burroughs

The talented backstop was a first-team all-league selection who led the Indians in hitting, ending with a .531 average (43 for 81) with 32 runs, 21 RBI and 10 doubles.

P — Cheyenne Steward, Senior, Burroughs

First-team all-league and All-CIF Southern Section pick was 9-5 with a 2.59 ERA and struck out 58 over 111 innings. On offense, was third on the team with a .516 average (32 for 62) to go along with 16 runs and 32 RBI.

INF — Lily Winn, Junior, Burbank

First-team all-league pick did not strike out in 86 plate appearances. Was the top hitter on the Burbank squad, finishing with a .535 average (46 for 86) to go along with 29 runs and 34 RBI.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Florencio Galindo, Bell-Jeff

With a team of experienced senior players, he guided the Guards to their fifth straight Santa Cruz League championship. Bell-Jeff also enjoyed a deep run in the CIF Southern Section Division VI playoffs, advancing to the semifinals for the fourth consecutive season.
