Police arrested a 21-year-old male Thursday morning in Burbank on suspicion of grand theft auto and evading police.

The suspect, identified as Forest Herman, was spotted by security guards driving suspiciously in the IKEA parking lot, said Burbank Police Sgt. Jerry Misquez.

They reported his license plate to the Burbank Police Department, who determined it was a stolen vehicle, he said.

Herman drove away from the parking lot, but within a few minutes an officer on patrol in the Sunset Canyon area spotted the plate and stopped the vehicle, Misquez said.

The suspect then got out of the car and started to walk away.

“He was ultimately detained and arrested,” Misquez said.
