A 22-year-old Burbank man pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges that he stabbed a Sunland man in January, leaving him with severe head and upper-body injuries.

The man, Eric Wang, was charged with one count each of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.

He was released from police custody a couple days after his arrest after posting $500,000 bail.

The victim, 22-year-old Anthony Savage, was found on the sidewalk in the 1600 block of West Alameda Avenue with severe injuries around 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 25, authorities said.

Savage was transported to the hospital with severe injuries, including apparent stab wounds and blunt-force trauma.

He has since been released from the hospital.

It appears the two men knew each other, police said.
