National Night Out in Burbank to change locations

Share

National Night Out in Burbank is moving to the Burbank Police Station this year from its previous location on the Chandler Bikeway.

The event will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 5 on the station’s rear parking lot, located at 200 N. Third St., where citizens and law enforcement will join forces to strengthen neighborhood camaraderie and police-community partnerships, according to officials.

Nearly 20 local organizations and city departments, including the Special Weapons and Tactics team, Burbank Bike Angels and the California Highway Patrol, will have booths at the event, this year themed “World Peace,” said Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.

Neighborhood Watch groups are encouraged to host their own block parties and barbecues. Those who have registered their event with the police department may get a visit from a police officer, firefighter or city official.
