Sports Roundup: Burbank, Burroughs High softball thump league foes

SOFTBALL

Burbank 23, Muir 0 (five innings): The Bulldogs rolled to a Pacific League road victory on Tuesday afternoon.

Junior Hanna Moulton paced Burbank (10-3, 3-0 in league) in tossing a five-inning no-hitter while fanning seven.

Offensively, Caitlyn Brooks powered her team by going four for four with a double, triple and six RBI, while Lily Winn was also four for four with two triples, a double and two RBI.

Jazmin Orozco went three for four with a double, triple and three RBI.

Burroughs 16, Hoover 0 (five innings): The Indians posted a Pacific League road win Tuesday in a game called in the fifth inning because of the 10-run mercy rule. DJ Santos had three hits for Burroughs, which improved to 11-3-1 and 3-0 in league.

BASEBALL

Burroughs 4, Hoover 2: Host Burroughs notched a Pacific League home victory Tuesday. The Indians are 7-6, 1-2 in league.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Providence 3, Yeshiva 0: The Pioneers picked up a 25-1, 25-13, 25-15 Liberty League win Tuesday. The Pioneers are 9-8, 4-0 in league.

BOYS’ GOLF

Burroughs 206, Crescenta Valley 208: Daniel Kesicbasian shot a two-over-par 37 on Monday to lead the Indians to a nonleague victory at Brookside Golf Course No. 2 in Pasadena. Louis D’Aquila added a 38 for Burroughs.

New Community Jewish 226, Providence 278: Providence fell Tuesday in a Liberty League match at Braemar Country Club.
