A tractor trailer pushed a pickup into a utility pole along South Coast Highway early Saturday, Laguna Beach police said.
No injuries were reported.
The big rig pushed the unoccupied Ford Ranger 50 to 60 feet until it hit a pole at 3:31 a.m. near Moss Street and South Coast Highway, Sgt. Louise Callus wrote in an email.
"The tractor trailer was driving north and drifted to its right, striking the pickup and pushing it into the pole," Callus said.
She added that no drugs or alcohol were involved.
The car was crushed, the pole had extensive damage and one northbound lane of Coast Highway was closed between Upland Road and Ruby Street, Callus said. Traffic was rerouted into the center median while Southern California Edison crews repaired the pole.
