An all-local battle will take place in the boys’ 14 singles round of 16 today at the Costa Mesa Summer Junior Classic.

Corona del Mar resident Alastair Hurry, the No. 2 seed, will face Newport Beach resident Austin Di Giulio at 8:30 a.m. at the Costa Mesa Tennis Center.

Hurry received a bye in the round of 32. Di Giulio defeated Luis Castillo of Tustin, 6-1, 6-3.

In boys’ 16 singles, No. 2 seed James Zillman of Costa Mesa beat Jed Meng of Irvine, 6-0, 6-1, to advance to today’s round of 16. Zillman will play against Anthony Lee of Gardena at 4 p.m. Lee defeated Costa Mesa’s Conner Tamblyn, 6-0, 6-0.

Chase Rados of Newport Beach lost to Trevor Brown of San Diego, 6-0, 6-3.

Corona del Mar resident Henry Gordon lost to Robert Simon of Paradise Valley, Ariz., 6-0, 6-2.

Troy Arnold of Newport Harbor High lost to Blaine Mengert of Orange, 6-2, 6-2.

In the boys’ 18 singles, Andrew Kurzweil of Sage Hill School advanced to today’s round of 16 after Quentin Moscaritolo was a no-show. Kurzweil will play against No. 4 seed Brandon Schlack of Long Beach at 10:30 a.m.

Newport Beach resident Miles Patricola advanced to today’s round of 16 after his opponent Jimmy Fernandez of Orange withdrew because of injury. Patricola will play against Joseph Park of Cerritos, 6-2, 6-4. Park upset the No. 5 seed, Gerrit Dickey of Temecula, 6-2, 6-2.

Eric Miller of San Diego defeated Costa Mesa’s Alexander Adams, 6-2, 6-2.

Newport Beach resident Alex Carlis lost to No. 2 seed Patrick Lipscomb, 6-0, 6-0.

Paul McKelvey of Newport Beach lost to Matthew Chung of Orange, 6-0, 6-0.

In the boys’ 12 singles, Bjorn Hoffmann of Newport Beach defeated Alvaro Gonzalez of Guadalajara, Jalisco, 6-0, 6-0, to advance to today’s round of 16. Hoffmann will play against Zu Zinyang Tan at 11:30 a.m.

Adam Langevin of Newport Beach lost to No. 4 seed Nicholas Appel, 6-3, 6-1.

In girls’ 16 singles, No. 8 seed Morgan McVey of Newport Beach advanced to today’s round of 16 with a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Bridget Etchegaray of Yorba Linda. McVey will play against Sabine Ludwig of Capistrano Beach at 1:30 p.m.

Newport Beach resident Olivia Dajee advanced to today’s round of 16 after beating Casey Astorino of Sage Hill School, 6-2, 6-1. Dajee will play against No. 6 seed Camille Deleon of La Mirada at 2 p.m.

In girls’ 18 singles, Lauren Conway of Newport Harbor defeated Huntington Beach’s Melissa Markowitz, 7-5, 6-4, to advance to today’s round of 16. Conway will play against Regina Suarez of La Quinta at 10 a.m. Kalika Slevcove of Corona del Mar High beat Laguna Beach’s Monika Prokes, 6-0, 6-0, to advance to today’s round of 16. Slevcove will play against No. 3 seed Morgan McCray of Oceanside at 10 a.m.

In girls’ 14 singles, Costa Mesa resident Annie Radeva will play against No. 4 seed Risa Nakagawa of Rancho Palos Verdes in a round of 16 match today at 9:30 a.m. Radeva beat Newport Beach resident Claire Farmer, 6-0, 6-0, Monday.

In boys’ 14 doubles, Newport Beach residents Adam Langevin and Di Giulio will play against David Howren and Jay Yearn of San Clemente in a quarterfinal match today at 3 p.m. The winner will face the top-seeded team of Tyler Bloom (San Juan Capistrano) and Diego Bennett (Ladera Ranch) in the semifinals Thursday at 3:30 p.m.

In girls’ 16 doubles, CdM High players Alison Ishii and Ariana Naaseh will play against the top-seeded team of Meghan Sheehan Dizon (Murrieta) and Hannah Stone (Temecula) in a quarterfinal match today 4 p.m. Ishii and Naaseh beat Laguna Niguel residents Jesica Herring and Lauren Smith, 6-1, 6-0. The top-seeded team beat Blake Bakkila (Newport Beach) and Radeva, 6-0, 6-3.

Newport Beach residents Kaitlyn Cosenza and Robin Young lost to Laguna Niguel residents Rebecca Gold and Kasey Matthess, 6-1, 6-2.

Newport Beach resident Kristi Kawabe and Victoria Magallanes (Orange) lost to Caroline Hall (Corona) and Jordyn Kearney (Irvine), 5-7, 7-5, 10-8.

Newport Beach residents Kate Knight and Christina Young lost to No. 4 seeds Rebekah Anderson (La Mirada) and Brittanie Eraso (Fullerton), 6-1, 6-4.

Newport Beach resident Kaylin Fleming and Sophia Mola (Huntington Beach) lost to the No. 2-seeded team of Mariel Ante (Riverside) and Shanninmae Olivarez, 6-0, 6-0.

Newport Beach residents Carly Searcy and Farmer are one of four teams in the girls’ 14 doubles division. They will play against top seeds Jadie Acidera (Anaheim) and Isabella Oedekerk (San Juan Capistrano) Thursday at 2 p.m. The winner will advance to Friday’s final at noon.

Newport Beach resident Alexandra Barkouras and Juliet Sussman (Palm Springs) play against Jessica Anzo (Temecula) and Melanie Eraso (Fullerton) Thursday at noon.
