Cooper did not play in Great Britain’s 11-1 tournament-opening loss to Canada on Thursday.

Cooper, drafted in the 21st round by the Seattle Mariners out of USC in 2009, pitched the 2012 season with the Sioux Falls, S.D. Pheasants of the independent American Assn. Cooper, who was 1-6 with a 4.14 earned-run average with one save in 45 2/3 innings for Sioux Falls, reached the Double-A level with Seattle in 2011.

Great Britain plays the Czech Republic in an elimination game Saturday at 4 a.m. PT.
