Tickets go on sale Friday for SiriusXM radio’s Hair Nation Festival, a celebration of hair metal set for Sept. 17 at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre.

It’s a gathering of rock acts who found fame in the 1980s, including Motley Crue’s Vince Neil, Poison’s Bret Michaels, Yngwie Malmsteen, Kix, Slaughter, Lita Ford, Vixen, Britny Fox, BulletBoys, Faster Pussycat, LA Guns’ Phil Lewis and Tracii Guns, Loudness, Junkyard, Vain, Tuff, Bang Tango, Pretty Boy Floyd, Odin, Gabbie Rae and Circus of Power.

The festival will be hosted by radio and TV personality Eddie Trunk.

“I can’t wait to perform back in Southern California, where it all started for me,” Neil said in a news release. “I’m gonna pull out all the stops on this one. What a great lineup, in a great venue.”

Trunk, host of the SiriusXM show “Trunk Nation with Eddie Trunk” and co-host of “That Metal Show” on VH-1, said: “I’m truly honored to host the first-ever Hair Nation show. As a lifelong fan, friend and supporter of so many of these bands on radio and TV, it’s great to see them have their own event to celebrate their decades of great music.”

General admission and VIP tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at HairNationFest.com. Prices start at $15.

Two unsigned bands can earn the chance to play at the Hair Nation Festival via SiriusXM’s Hair Nation Festival Battle of the Bands on Aug. 17 at the Whisky A Go-Go in West Hollywood. The grand-prize winner will open the main stage at the festival and the runner-up will open the second stage.

Bands can apply for the Battle of the Bands by emailing whiskyagogobooking@yahoo.com by June 17.
