Boys' Basketball: CdM wins Palm Springs summer tournament

Ryan Stone, an incoming senior forward at Corona del Mar High, helped the Sea Kings boys' basketball team win the Palm Springs summer basketball tournament on Sunday.

The Sea Kings defeated Foothill, from Henderson, Nev., in the final. They also beat Alhambra, Palm Springs and Sherman Oaks Buckley during the three-day tournament.

Kevin Fults, an incoming senior forward, and future freshman Tae Le played key roles to CdM's success.

The Sea Kings played without two of their best players, Bo St. Geme and Matt Ctvrtlik. Coach Ryan Schachter said St. Geme, an incoming senior point guard, attended a family wedding, and Ctvrtlik, an incoming junior forward, is dealing with back issues from playing volleyball at the USA Junior National Championships earlier this month.
