Amy Matsuoka must love Missouri.

For the second straight year, the incoming Corona del Mar High junior won the Locton/Samsung Kansas City Junior, an American Junior Golf Assn. event.

Matsuoka is the only player in tournament history to win the event twice and now has two AJGA wins in her career.

Mastuoka carried a seven-stroke lead into Thursday’s final. She notched two birdies on the front nine and carded a 3-over-par 75 to win by four strokes. She had a tournament total of even-par 216 at the National Golf Club of Kansas City in Parkville, Mo.

She was excited to win the event for the second year in a row, as well as shoot the lowest score out of the boys and girls.

“I feel really proud because all of my hard work has paid off,” Matsuoka said in a press release. “It feels pretty cool to have shot the lowest score out of the boys and girls.”

Matsuoka shot 71-70-75-216.
