Thanks for help with school evacuation

Share

On behalf of the Glendale Unified School District and the Board of Education, I wish to express my sincere gratitude to the R.D. White staff, and to the Glendale Police and Fire departments, Whole Foods Market, and the YWCA for assisting us in the evacuation of our students at R.D. White Elementary on Monday, Jan. 7.

The police and fire department’s prompt response and timely handling of the event ensured the safety of our students, parents and staff. Whole Foods provided water, tangerines and snacks for our children, in addition to allowing us to assemble there. The YWCA provided an area to house our students until all parents were able to pick up their child.

The community rallied their resources to assist us; it is a testament of the care and concern this community has continually demonstrated for our children. Again, many thanks to all of you.
