A 31-year-old Van Nuys man who led police on slow-speed pursuit into Glendale was released Wednesday after posting bond, officials said.

The man, Ambartsum Sarkisyan, was arrested on suspicion of assault with deadly weapon after he allegedly got in a dispute with Los Angeles Police Department officers at the scene of a crash and tried to strike an officer with the tow truck before fleeing, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Police chased Sarkisyan for 2 1/2 hours until he reached Glendale.

He eventually stopped mid-block on Mountain Street, just east of Brand Boulevard, and exited the tow truck. Glendale police immediately arrested him and later turned him over to LAPD officers.

Sarkisyan told officers that he came to Glendale because his girlfriend was in the city, Lorenz said.
