Update: All lanes reopened following cement truck crash on 5 Freeway in Glendale

[Update 10:55 a.m.] All lanes of the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway were reopened at about 10:35 a.m. Monday after a cement truck crashed, trapping and seriously injuring the driver, officials said.

The driver, whose name was not immediately available, was transported to Los Angeles County USC Medical Center with with major injuries, said California Highway Patrol Officer Francisco Villalobos.

The crash happened just after 8 a.m. near the Colorado Street onramp to the southbound 5 Freeway. A SigAlert was issued at about 8:30 a.m. for the two, three and four lanes.

Glendale Fire officals were also at the incident, Scott said.
