A new branch of DSW — the designer-shoe warehouse store — is coming to the Glendale Marketplace in the site of the former Old Navy store.

Company officials confirmed this week the store is slated to open at the end of September, bringing in between 20 to 40 new jobs, both full time and part time.

The company is currently renovating the 15,000-square-foot location to fit the DSW warehouse design, said company spokeswoman Jordyn Ebert.

The nearest location of DSW is 6 miles away in the Hollywood Galaxy Mall.

“We were just looking to spread more shoe love to this area,” Ebert said. “It looks like a great market for the type of shoes we sell and what our company stands for.”

The Old Navy store, which was an original tenant when the shopping center opened in 1997, closed at the end of May.

An LA Fitness gym is also slated to open soon in the Marketplace, officials with Cypress Equities, the Dallas-based property owner of the shopping plaza, confirmed.
