Fallen power pole causes power outage, street closures

A power pole fell on a parked car at Rosemont and Prospect avenue in the La Crescenta-Montrose area on Friday evening, causing "fluid" street closures in the area as authorities worked to repair the damage.

The call came in to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Crescenta Valley station at 5:17 p.m., said Lt. Chad Sauter.

"The pole basically disintegrated and fell on top of a parked car," he said.

No one was in the car, and no injuries were reported, Sauter said.

Under a dozen homes are without power, Sauter said, but crews were working to clean up the area and restore electricity within a few hours.
