Firefighters rescued a man on Thursday after he suffered minor injuries and was unable to climb down a hiking trail at Brand Park, police said.

Fire crews received a report at 12:39 p.m. about the man needing to be rescued from the park, which is located in the 1600 block West Mountain Street, according to Glendale fire officials.

Crews hiked toward the man while a helicopter helped direct them to his location.

A Los Angeles City Fire Department helicopter assisted in airlifting the man to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries.
