Lori Klein Adamek, 67, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side at their home in La Cañada, CA on September 29, 2012.

Born October 21, 1944, in Wilmette, IL to William and Ruth Klein, Lori graduated from New Trier High School (1962), and the University of Michigan for both her undergrad and law degrees (1966 and 1969 respectively).

Growing up, Lori and her family spent summer vacations at Pennellwood resort in Berrien Springs, MI. Her zeal for being involved led to her spending much of those vacations with the staff of the resort, and even being involved in the relentless prank war between her father and the staff.

A long-time resident of La Cañada, Lori led a life full of work in her community. Her work in computer acquisition for La Cañada schools was just one of the causes she championed. Whether it was being the biggest cookie client for a neighborhood girl scout, or knowing her grocery store cashiers by name, her life touched hundreds of her fellow community members. Anyone who knew her was truly a better person for it.

Lori loved to travel with her family. She loved London, Munich, and the U.S. National Parks. Whether it was a road trip to Portland or a cruise down the Ohio River on the Delta Queen, Lori experienced first-hand many of the majesties that life has to offer. Lori was a proud football season ticket holder for the University of Michigan from 1962, and a season ticket holder from the creation of the Los Angeles Galaxy, almost never missing a home game the last 16 years.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Charles Adamek, her children and their spouses: Donald (Heidi) Adamek of Belleville, MI, and Elizabeth (Don) Ayres of San Diego, CA, as well as her sister, Barbara Klein of Tucson, AZ and her brother, William Klein of Wilmette, IL.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent in Lori’s name to:
