A man with an apparent taste for fine liquor stole a bottle of cognac valued at roughly $3,000 from a north Glendale grocery store on Friday, police said.

Surveillance video reportedly showed that man at about 2:30 a.m. approached Pacific Food Mart in the 1000 block of North Pacific Avenue and pried open a sliding door, Glendale police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot said.

He allegedly ran inside the store, jumped onto a counter and grabbed a bottle of Remy Martin Louis XIII Cognac from behind the cash register before exiting the store.

Police said the man wore a black hooded sweater, black pants and light-colored gloves.

Similar thefts of the expensive liquor have been reported nationwide over the past several years.

Remy Martin Louis XIII Cognac is blended from 1,200 eaux de vie and is aged up to 100 years in oak barrels.
