Developer receives Papal honor

Developer Rick Caruso, chief executive and founder of Caruso — owner and operator of the Americana at Brand — was the recipient of a Papal honor by Pope Francis recently.

The special honor is known as Knight Commander in the Order of the Knights of St. Gregory the Great, and awarded to recognize Caruso as an “exemplar of devotion to the church, having lived a life of service and generosity to so many in need with [the] Archdiocese,” according to a statement.

Caruso received the commendation at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles last Saturday.
