Montrose man who reportedly broke into Sandra Bullock’s home faces felony charges

Criminal charges were filed Tuesday against a Montrose man who allegedly broke into actress Sandra Bullock’s home over the weekend, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Joshua James Corbett, 39, faces one felony count each of first-degree residential burglary, stalking and possession of a machine gun, said Deputy District Attorney Wendy Segall.

Corbett was not in possession of the machine gun at the time of the break-in, she said.

He allegedly climbed over a fence gain access to Bullock’s West Los Angeles property and broke into the home around 1 a.m. on Sunday, Segall said.

Bullock was home at the time of the break-in.

Police responded to a 911 call from the the victim’s residence, where Corbett was arrested, Segall said.

He’s scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday and prosecutors have recommended that his bail be set at $185,000.

If convicted, Corbett faces a maximum prison sentence of seven years and four months.

The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.
