Sports Roundup: Crescenta Valley volleyball grinds out important win

Crescenta Valley 3, Pasadena 2: In the race for the fourth automatic postseason berth in the Pacific League, Noel Wong led the way for the Falcons in Thursday’s 16-25, 25-23, 27-25, 18-25, 16-14 league road win with 11 kills, eight blocks and five aces.

Kasieh Cases finished with 12 kills, 11 digs and five aces and Emmie Walker added seven kills, seven digs and three aces for Crescenta Valley (8-8, 4-6 in league), which is now a win ahead of Pasadena, Glendale and Hoover.

Pasadena fell to 8-6 and 3-5 in league.

Hoover 3, Muir 0: Vana Ohanian had eight kills and 14 aces for the Tornadoes in a 25-6, 25-10, 25-13 Pacific League home win on Thursday.

Lilit Chaparyan had six aces for Hoover (6-12, 3-6).

Burroughs 3, Glendale 0: The Nitros suffered a 25-19, 25-21, 25-7 Pacific League road loss on Thursday to fall to 3-6 in league.

San Gabriel Mission 3, Holy Family 0: Dominique Ornelas had six kills and Kiara Ardines added four for the Gaels in a 27-25, 25-19, 25-19 Horizon League loss on Thursday.

Skylynn Marquez had three aces for Holy Family (1-15, 1-3).
