Times Community News receives finalist nominations for LA Press Club awards

The four Times Community News publications in Los Angeles County have received five finalist nominations from the Los Angeles Press Club.

Columnist Patrick Caneday and Pasadena Sun reporter Joe Piasecki are co-finalists in the personality profile category. Caneday is up for his profile of of Glendale barber Ernie Lind, while Piasecki’s profile of the Pasadena Unified Board of Education drew notice from the judges.

Caneday, who writes for both the Glendale News-Press and Burbank Leader, is also up for his Small Wonders column.

In addition, the staff of the Glendale News-Press is a finalist in two online categories: best website by a print organization and best Facebook presence by news organization.

The winners will be announced on June 24 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.
